With a combined total of 20 years of experience in corporate human resources, recruiting, and career counseling, we offer practice interview sessions, lectures, group discussions, as well as online and written exercises designed to teach clients how to effectively job search and handle the toughest interview questions and tactics.

Karen Goers has been successful at efficiently locating and attracting top talent in an ever-growing, global marketplace for the last 15 years. An expert in Recruitment, Karen has acted as an extension of her clients’ Human Resource Department from both the Recruitment Advertising and Executive Search perspectives. Her demonstrated success in finding critical talent for her clients has provided key additions in the following vertical markets: Education, Financial, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Transportation and Consumer Packaged Goods. After completing her undergraduate degree, Karen worked for a privately-held Recruitment Advertising agency. She has an accomplished record in planning and leading comprehensive Advertising/Marketing strategies in support of business goals and objectives for companies of all sizes. Realizing recruitment was her passion, Karen made a conscious decision to move to Executive Search and round out her background. Having worked with Human Resource professionals to understand their job requisitions, required core competencies, corporate culture and interview process, Karen’s transition to Executive Search and interviewing talent for her clients was seamless. Karen’s Talent Acquisition experience includes: developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies; managing and driving the staffing lifecycle; direct sourcing/recruiting/interviewing qualified candidates; and managing the interview process, hiring decisions and negotiations. In 2004, Karen founded Kage Search Group, Inc., a national executive search firm headquartered in Chicago that specializes in the placement of Sales and Marketing professionals. Karen has logged over 10,000 hours interviewing, preparing and prepping candidates to interview with her clients. Given the extraordinary depth of her experience, she has the skills and nuanced understanding of recruitment to prepare individuals to interview at their very best. Karen received her Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Illinois.


Allison Heverin has worked in the legal field as a practicing attorney and a legal career counselor for more than 13 years. Most recently she worked at Northwestern University School of Law as a Clinical Assistant Professor and as an Associate Director in the Center for Career Strategy and Advancement for six years. During her time at Northwestern, Allison worked individually with hundreds of law students as they sought coveted and ultra-competitive positions as judicial law clerks with federal and state court judges, helping many new attorneys to gain these prestigious positions. She was also one of a small number of law career advisors across the country who participated in a law school working group to develop and pilot an online judicial clerkship application system for federal clerkships, the Online System for Clerkship Application and Review (OSCAR), which now enables law students, federal judges and faculty across the country to navigate the judicial clerkship application process online. Prior to her time at Northwestern, Allison worked as Assistant Corporation Counsel in the City of Chicago’s Law Department, defending the City of Chicago against employment discrimination lawsuits. She was also an associate at Sanchez & Daniels, where she represented clients in a variety of matters in federal and state court. Immediately after her graduation from law school, Allison worked as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Nan R. Nolan in the Northern District of Illinois and the Hon. Theresa L. Springmann in the Northern District of Indiana. Allison holds a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College and a Juris Doctor from Notre Dame Law School.

Ann Marie Peters has more than 18 years of Banking and Financial Services experience in multi-faceted business areas worldwide. A high-impact executive with a successful track record, Ann Marie’s experience includes behavioral coaching development and facilitation, consulting, project management, sales management, compensation analytics, incentive program development and management, sales training development and facilitation, business-to-business development and management, script development, and sales technology development. Ann Marie is credited with writing, managing and launching a ground-breaking international management behavioral coaching program integrating accountability strategy for improved performance and morale. Ann Marie’s Human Resources expertise includes compensation analysis, incentive program development and management, as well as employee recruitment and hiring. She is credited with launching multiple international recognition and incentive programs. Her expertise in Sales includes management and employee coaching, process analysis and redesign, technology analysis and design, sales channel training, script development, as well as professional portfolio and client management. Ann Marie set precedent for pioneering an international operations training program. Her reputation as a start-up and turnaround expert resulted in her being the featured employee for HSBC in Working Mother Magazine’s Top 100 Companies. Ann Marie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Sciences from the University of Chicago and her Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business.
